The Raindrop MDS greenhouse is engineered for maximum strength and reliability in harsh Canadian climates. Its frame is constructed from reinforced, heavy-duty hot-dip galvanized square steel tubing (20 × 40 mm / approx. 0.8 in × 1.6 in), providing exceptional durability and resistance to extreme weather conditions, including heavy snowfall.
Extreme Snow Load Resistance
The greenhouse roof features a sharp (acute) angle design, which prevents snow from accumulating and allows it to slide off naturally. In addition, the reinforced steel frame is capable of withstanding snow loads of up to 500 kg/m² (over 230 lb/ft²) without structural failure.
Even in extreme conditions — when snow accumulates up to roof level and continues to fall — the greenhouse structure remains intact. Even a snow layer of up to 10 feet above the roof will not destroy the frame, thanks to its exceptional strength and structural rigidity.
Reinforced Hot-Dip Galvanized Steel Frame
The frame is manufactured from heavy-duty hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel, where steel components are immersed in molten zinc at approximately 450 °C, creating a thick, metallurgically bonded zinc–iron alloy layer. This process provides:
· superior long-term corrosion resistance;
· high structural rigidity;
· minimal maintenance requirements for outdoor use.
Exceptionally Robust 8 mm Polycarbonate Cover
The greenhouse is covered with triple-walled (3X structure) polycarbonate panels:
· Thickness: 5/16" (8 mm);
· 100% UV resistant;
· Weather-resistant, anti-hail, shock-resistant;
· excellent light diffusion and thermal insulation;
· 15-year warranty on polycarbonate panels.
Integrated Ventilation System
The greenhouse is designed with two ventilation windows located at the front and rear, each equipped with a hydraulic spring lift. This allows the windows to open upwards automatically or manually, ensuring efficient airflow and stable internal temperatures.
Easy and Fast DIY Assembly
The Raindrop MD greenhouse kit is engineered for exceptional ease and speed of assembly:
· minimal number of individual parts;
· clear and logical assembly sequence;
· complete hardware kit included;
· no specialized tools required.
Installation Base
The greenhouse must be installed on 4"×4" or 6"×6" treated wood beams, placed on a solid, level surface and properly anchored.
